An inviting place for all ages to shop, live, dine, meet and visit, West Branch is located in both Johnson and Cedar counties. The community’s pride in its architectural and cultural heritage is evident in the historic downtown where 14 buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the birthplace of the only American president born in Iowa, Herbert Hoover. The Johnson County portion of West Branch is part of the Iowa City, Iowa Metropolitan Statistical Area.
