The Iowa City Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport supporting charter, flight training, and other travel/business needs. It started in 1918 as one of the first landing strips west of the Mississippi River. From there, it became a stop on the transcontinental air mail route and the birthplace of commercial aviation in Iowa.
Today, their operators provide a wide range of services from aircraft charter and management, flight instruction, maintenance, and research. The Iowa City Airport’s mission and function have changed over the years and their team is working to make it the best airport in the state.
“We support the strategic goals of the City of Iowa City and are an integral community asset that contributes to the region’s economic vitality and evokes community pride.” – Michael Tharp
The Iowa City Municipal Airport joined the Business Partnership to continue their support of our local business development.
